Bucheon City announced that it will host the '6th Bucheon Diaspora Literary Award Ceremony' at 2:30 PM on November 5 at the Small Concert Hall on the 2nd floor of the Bucheon Art Center.

The Bucheon Diaspora Literary Award is an international literary prize established to honor literary works that capture the lives and sorrows of diasporas (migrants) living scattered across the world, as well as messages of solidarity that transcend boundaries.

This year's winning work has been selected as the full-length novel "Herkunft" (Origin) by author Saša Stanišić (translated by Kwon Sang-hee, EunHaengNaMu).

The event will be held in two parts. Part 1 will feature the main award ceremony from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, followed by Part 2, which includes a meeting with the winning author and an autograph session from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM.

Notably, during the author meeting, Kim Min-kyung, an overseas literature editor at Minumsa Publishing Group, will host a conversation with the winning author on the themes of diaspora life and literary significance embedded in "Herkunft". Attendees will have the opportunity to directly hear about the author's literary world and creative journey while engaging in communication.

This event is open to any citizens interested in literature and culture. Citizens wishing to participate can apply in advance through the QR code found on the official promotional poster.

Park Hye-kyung, Head of the Cultural Policy Division at Bucheon City, stated, "We hope this award ceremony will serve as a venue to understand and empathize with different lives and cultures through literature," adding, "We expect citizens to directly communicate with a world-renowned author and closely experience the value of international literature."
