Coupang Eats Announces New Commission Structure for Merchants

Coupang Eats, a major food delivery platform in South Korea, has announced a new commission structure for its merchants, set to take effect in April. The new structure will reduce the commission fees for most merchants, with the goal of supporting smaller businesses and promoting growth.

Key features of the new commission structure:

Tiered commission rates: The new structure will introduce tiered commission rates based on the monthly sales volume of each merchant. This means that merchants with lower sales volumes will pay lower commission rates, while those with higher sales volumes will pay higher rates.
Reduced commission fees: The new structure will reduce the overall commission fees for most merchants. The average commission rate will be reduced from the current 9.8% to a range of 2.0% to 7.8%.
Monthly recalculation: The sales volume of each merchant will be recalculated monthly to determine the appropriate commission rate. This ensures that the commission rates are always fair and reflective of the current business situation of each merchant.
Benefits of the new commission structure:

Support for small businesses: The new structure will provide significant support for small businesses, which often struggle to compete with larger businesses. The reduced commission fees will help small businesses to increase their profits and grow their operations.
Promotion of growth: The new structure will also promote the growth of the food delivery industry as a whole. By reducing the financial burden on merchants, Coupang Eats hopes to encourage more restaurants to join its platform and offer delivery services to their customers.
Overall, the new commission structure is a positive development for both merchants and customers. It will help to create a more level playing field for businesses of all sizes, while also promoting the growth of the food delivery industry.

In addition to the new commission structure, Coupang Eats also announced a new delivery fee structure. The new delivery fees will range from 1,900 to 3,400 won, depending on the sales volume of the merchant. This change is intended to help offset the cost of the reduced commission fees.

Coupang Eats is one of the leading food delivery platforms in South Korea. The company has been growing rapidly in recent years, and it is now one of the most popular choices for both consumers and merchants. The new commission structure is expected to further solidify Coupang Eats' position in the market.
