Rice Cake Museum K-Museum Regional Tour Exhibition

Cheonan Museum announced on the 2nd that it is holding a touring exhibition titled “Rice Cake, Containing the Eight Provinces: A Journey of Exquisite Taste” at the Cheonan Heungtaryeong Museum until November 27.

This exhibition was arranged as the Seoul Rice Cake Museum was selected for the "2026 Public and Private Museums K-Museum Regional Tour Exhibition" project hosted by the Korean Museum Association and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The exhibition promotes the value of the National Intangible Cultural Heritage "Rice Cake Making" and introduces Korea's diverse dietary culture through representative rice cakes from all eight provinces of the country. In addition, about 50 items—including tools for making rice cakes and models of rice cakes representing each region—are displayed to examine the characteristics of each rice cake and highlight the significance of Korean rice cakes passed down through generations.

The exhibition consists of several sections: △ Rice cakes of our eight provinces designated as National Intangible Cultural Heritage, △ Rice cakes of the Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Gaeseong regions, △ Rice cakes of Gangwon, △ Rice cakes of Chungcheong, △ Rice cakes of Gyeongsang, Jeolla, and Jeju, △ Rice cakes of Hwanghae, Hamgyeong, and Pyeongan, and △ Experience zones including a photo zone and message wall.

Along with the exhibition, a "Rice Cake Making" experience is offered for visitors to directly experience traditional Korean rice cake culture. Individuals can apply for the experience through the Cheonan City Integrated Reservation System, while groups can apply via the Rice Cake Museum website.

For more details, please contact the Rice Cake Museum (02-741-5447).

"It is meaningful to cooperate with the Rice Cake Museum to host this exhibition in Cheonan," said Lee Jong-taek, Director of the Cheonan Museum. "We hope that through this exhibition, citizens can encounter the diverse rice cake cultures of various regions and reflect on the value and significance of our traditional dietary culture."
