50 discarded banners recycled, reusable containers used, and other eco-friendly practices implemented

The Cheonan City Taejosan Youth Training Center (under the Cheonan City Youth Foundation) held its ecological environment festival, "If the Earth Didn't Exist," on the 31st of last month at the center's lawn plaza.

Approximately 600 youths and citizens participated in this year's festival, which integrated resource circulation and eco-friendly practices across all aspects of event operations.

A total of 50 discarded banners from previous events were collected and repurposed into 35 new festival banners, while reusable containers were used at food booths to minimize disposable waste. Additionally, 70 kg of recyclables collected in advance were utilized as materials for hands-on activities.

The venue featured various programs, including upcycling experience booths, interactive environmental exhibitions, a flea market, and youth culture and arts performances.

Furthermore, a "Taejosan Ecological Exploration" QR code bingo activity utilizing Taejosan's natural environment, along with "Taejo Eco Walk," a plogging program where participants pick up trash while walking, were conducted simultaneously.

Seo Jae-min, Director of the Cheonan City Taejosan Youth Training Center, stated, "We hope this festival goes beyond simply reminding everyone of the value of the environment and leads to everyday eco-friendly practices. We will continue to run ecological programs so that youth can develop environmental protection habits in their daily lives."
