- Provincial government holds a dedication ceremony on the 6th to wish for the delegation's success

The Chungcheongnam-do provincial government held the dedication ceremony for the Chungnam delegation participating in the 107th National Sports Festival at the main auditorium of the Chungnam Library on October 6, renewing their determination to achieve an overall 3rd-place finish.

Attended by key figures including Deputy Governor Goo Bon-young, Chungnam Sports Council President Kim Young-beom, Provincial Council Chairman Cho Cheol-ki, and Provincial Superintendent of Education Lee Byung-do, along with sports council officials, sports association heads, local government athletic representatives, and athletes, the event featured pre-ceremony performances, a participation report, the presentation of the provincial flag, and a resolution reading.

The Chungnam delegation will send a total of 1,958 participants—including 1,365 athletes and 593 officials across 50 sports events—to the 107th National Sports Festival, which will take place for seven days from October 16 to 22 across Jeju Special Self-Governing Province.

Following three consecutive 5th-place finishes in the overall standings from the 104th Games in 2023 to the 106th Games last year, the province is aiming even higher for a top-3 spot in this year's competition.

During the ceremony, the Chungnam delegation vowed to give their absolute best, fueled by the sweat and hard work they have put in, to reward the support of the 2.2 million provincial residents and elevate Chungnam’s pride.

"The passion and challenge of pushing past your limits without giving up until the very last moment are what matter most," Deputy Governor Goo said. "I hope you set your goals high, prepare thoroughly, and approach every match with confidence."

He added, "The province will create an environment and conditions where our athletes can focus entirely on training and showcase their skills to the fullest. We will also continuously expand the optimal foundation for enhancing athletic performance and nurturing next-generation athletes."
