Chungcheongbuk-do Province has announced the grand opening of its first permanent sales outlet for agricultural and food products in Atlanta, the largest city in the southeastern United States. This strategic move underscores the province's commitment to expanding its presence in the global market.

The newly established store, named the "Chungbuk Agricultural and Food Products U.S. Permanent Sales Center," officially opened its doors on April 18th (local time). It is strategically located within the Mega Mart Atlanta branch, a prominent Korean supermarket chain under the Nongshim Group. The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of key figures, including the Governor of Chungcheongbuk-do, Kim Young-hwan.

This permanent sales center is poised to serve as a crucial bridgehead for Chungcheongbuk-do's agricultural and food exports to the United States. It will provide an invaluable platform for American consumers to directly experience a diverse array of high-quality products originating from the province.

Governor Kim Young-hwan expressed his optimism about this new venture, stating, "By strengthening the foothold of Chungbuk's agricultural and food products in the U.S. market, we aim to significantly boost the export performance of our local farmers."

This initiative follows Chungcheongbuk-do's successful entry into the Thai market last year, demonstrating the province's proactive approach to globalizing K-food. The opening in Atlanta is expected to further accelerate this trend and contribute to a continued upswing in the region's export figures.

Chungcheongbuk-do projects that its agricultural and food exports will reach $123 million this year, marking a substantial 23.6% increase compared to the previous year. This new permanent sales center in Atlanta is anticipated to play a significant role in achieving this ambitious target and solidifying Chungcheongbuk-do's position as a key player in the international food market.

Mega Mart, where the Chungbuk sales center is located, has a significant presence in the United States, with additional stores in Sunnyvale and Fremont, California. The Atlanta location, situated at 2106 Pleasant Hill Rd, Duluth, GA 30096, benefits from a large customer base familiar with Korean products.

Chungcheongbuk-do is renowned for its diverse agricultural produce, including high-quality fruits, vegetables, and specialty products such as red ginseng. The permanent sales center will offer a dedicated space to showcase these items, ensuring consistent availability and building brand recognition among American consumers. This initiative not only aims to increase export revenue but also to promote the excellence and distinct flavors of Chungbuk's agricultural offerings in the competitive U.S. market.
