Gyeongju, South Korea — In anticipation of the 2025 APEC Summit, Gyeongju City is launching an English-language version of its municipal magazine, "Beautiful Gyeongju Stories." This initiative aims to provide foreign visitors with convenient access to information about the city's rich history and culture.

The English edition will be published in two issues, a summer edition and a fall edition, with 500 copies of each. The summer issue is being distributed this month, while the fall issue is scheduled for release in September. The magazines will be available at popular tourist destinations and areas with a high concentration of international visitors, such as Hwangnidan-gil, a famous historic neighborhood.

Unlike the Korean-language version, which focuses on local administrative news and benefits for residents, the English edition is tailored to international tourists. Its content will highlight Gyeongju's historical and cultural heritage, including:

Key historical sites and relics from the thousand-year-old Silla Kingdom.
Schedules for festivals and events.
Service information for foreign visitors.
Updates on the city's preparations for the APEC Summit, including infrastructure improvements, hygiene, and safety management.

The magazines will be placed at strategic locations, including Gyeongju Station, tourist information centers, Hwangnidan-gil's Community Culture Center, and major hotels. In addition to the print version, an e-book will be available on the Gyeongju City Hall website for wider accessibility.

Gyeongju Mayor Joo Nak-young expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, "As Gyeongju gains global attention as the APEC host city, we expect this English-language magazine to effectively convey Gyeongju's high-class culture and tourism content to foreign visitors."

"Beautiful Gyeongju Stories" is the city's official seasonal magazine, published four times a year. Residents and those interested in subscribing can contact the Gyeongju City Hall New Media Team at 054-779-6921 or apply through the city's website. This initiative is a proactive step by the city to ensure a welcoming and informative experience for the thousands of international delegates and tourists expected to visit for the APEC Summit.
