Cairo, Egypt – Vodafone Egypt unveiled a new digital platform designed specifically for journalists, marking a significant step in the company's ongoing commitment to Egypt's digital transformation and its strong relationship with the Egyptian media industry. The launch event, held at Vodafone's Cairo headquarters on Sunday, drew prominent figures from media, government, and business.

Among the attendees were Ahmed Badawy, chairman of the communication committee at the House of Representatives; Hossam Saleh, CEO of United Media Services; Yasser El-Mabaadi, secretary-general of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation; Mohamed El-Baz, board chairman and editor-in-chief of Al-Dostor newspaper; and Dr. Mahmoud Fakhr El-Din, head of the central administration for automation projects at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. Representing Vodafone Egypt were Ayman Essam, vice president for external relations and legal affairs, and Mai Yassin, head of external communications and media.

This initiative aligns with Vodafone Egypt's broader digital transformation strategy, which spans various sectors including health, education, financial inclusion, and support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), often implemented through collaborations with government ministries and agencies.

"The launch of this digital platform for journalists is a continuation of Vodafone Egypt's efforts in digital transformation and professional engagement with Egyptian media in an innovative way," stated Essam. "Journalists are vital partners in Vodafone's success in the Egyptian market."

The platform provides media professionals with a dedicated digital space to interact with Vodafone, offering streamlined access to real-time information. It simplifies various processes, allowing journalists to easily request interviews, submit inquiries, and stay updated on the latest press releases and company news.

"The platform aims to serve as a sophisticated, 24/7 link to meet journalists' needs and provide necessary support," Essam added. He emphasized that while the platform offers a modern digital solution, it will not replace traditional communication channels but rather enhance them, facilitating more efficient and rapid communication.

Following the platform launch, a discussion session titled “How Digital Transformation Impacts the Media Landscape in Egypt” explored the profound effects of the digital revolution on traditional media practices and the challenges faced by journalists in this evolving environment. Moderated by Ayman Essam, the session featured contributions from Ahmed Badawy, Hossam Saleh, and Mohamed El-Baz.

The panelists discussed key topics such as the impact of technology on digital content creation and the increasing reliance on social media by media institutions to reach their audiences. The conversation also highlighted the role of the telecommunications sector in supporting journalists through digital solutions and fostering improved partnerships for greater success. The event underscored Vodafone Egypt's commitment to supporting the media industry in navigating the digital landscape and fostering a stronger, more collaborative relationship.
