Talentor International Welcomes Ellwood Consulting as Singapore and Malaysia Partner

Global talent search consortium Talentor International has strengthened its presence in the Southeast Asian market by adding Ellwood Consulting as its new representative partner for Singapore and Malaysia. This strategic partnership is considered a significant step in solidifying Talentor's position in one of the world's most dynamic and rapidly developing regions, and in providing better services to global clients and top-tier talent.

Ellwood Consulting is headquartered in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, offering in-depth local expertise in two of Asia's key talent hubs. The firm specializes in permanent placements for mid-to-senior level professionals across corporate support functions such as finance, human resources, and information technology, as well as management consulting, sales, and marketing.

Talentor emphasized, "Singapore continues to act as a regional headquarters for global companies in finance, technology, and professional services, while Malaysia boasts a vibrant and fast-growing economy with a rich pipeline of skilled professionals. These two markets are essential for companies looking to scale their operations in Asia."

Mark Ellwood, founder of Ellwood Consulting and with over 20 years of experience in recruitment across the Asia Pacific region, explained the importance of this partnership. He noted, "In Singapore, due to the strong Singapore dollar, companies tend to perceive the salary levels of the talent they hire as high," adding that high labor costs can be a major consideration in recruitment.

Conversely, regarding the Malaysian market, he observed, "In Malaysia, it's common for even relatively junior talent to have a three-month notice period, and it's not unusual for the hiring company to buy out part of this notice period to induce an earlier start." This illustrates a unique recruitment practice in the Malaysian market. Mark Ellwood has served as Managing Director for Asia at leading publicly listed recruitment firms globally, overseeing brand introduction and growth in Singapore, Malaysia, Greater China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Established in 2003, Talentor has clients across various sectors including digital, IT, MedTech, FinTech, financial services, and FMCG. They leverage the local expertise of their partner firms to focus on international executive search.

Recent Growth: Accelerating European Market Expansion

Talentor International has also been actively expanding its presence in the European market. In May, Talentor welcomed Righthead, an executive search, recruitment, and HR consulting firm based in Nuremberg, Germany, as a new member firm. Talentor stated, "Germany plays a pivotal role in the European talent market, and having a reliable partner in Nuremberg, known as a hub for innovation and industry, is an undoubtedly strategic move for our network." They particularly emphasized, "The addition of Righthead's outstanding professionals, such as Ángeles Lazaro Camunas and Carolin Timmins, who possess a deep understanding of the German market as well as strong expertise in recruitment and consulting, adds significant value to Talentor."

Righthead was founded in 2007 as a subsidiary of Sellbytel, adding recruitment services to its BPO service portfolio to meet clients' direct hiring needs. From 2018, it became part of Webhelp Group, an international BPO service provider, and since 2023, it has been part of Concentrix, a global technology and services leader. Lazaro Camunas and Timmins explained, "As part of this merger, Righthead conducted a strategic relaunch of its brand, focusing on new clients and specialized recruitment."

Talentor has further expanded its network by recently adding Boomerang, based in Barcelona, Spain. Talentor expressed, "Talentor believes that great partnerships lead to success, and we are delighted to introduce our new partner in Spain, Boomerang." They added, "With a strong track record in executive search and talent solutions, Boomerang offers a fresh and dynamic approach to recruitment, perfectly aligning with Talentor's global mission."

Talentor stressed, "Spain is a vibrant and competitive market, and the right local expertise is key for companies seeking top talent." They evaluated, "Boomerang's in-depth industry knowledge, innovative strategies, and philosophy of being a trusted partner playing a key role in every recruitment process make them an ideal addition to our international network."

Boomerang focuses on finding senior professionals in various core business functions, including finance, HR, legal, sales, digital, and IT. They cover roles across different industries and seniority levels, from mid-level professionals to senior executives.

Javier Mediavilla, co-founder of Boomerang, stated, "Being part of an international network like Talentor allows us to share knowledge, best practices, and industry insights, and stay at the forefront of recruitment trends." He added, "The ability to leverage global expertise enhances our services, enabling us to provide high-quality, customized solutions and support companies and professionals with cross-border opportunities. This collaboration with top recruitment professionals adds depth to our work and ensures our continuous growth in an ever-evolving industry."

Talentor International's recent expansion in Asia and Europe is interpreted as part of a strategy to strengthen its competitiveness in the rapidly changing global talent market and to provide optimal talent solutions to clients based on specialized regional expertise.
