Daejeon City is holding the '2025 Daejeon Metropolitan City Human Rights Contest' to raise citizens' awareness of human rights and spread human rights culture.

This year marks the 9th annual contest, and submissions will be accepted for a total of 56 days, from July 7th to August 31st.

Any work that conveys the meaning of creating a warm world where everyone in our surroundings lives with mutual respect and without human rights violations can be submitted.

The contest is open to anyone interested in human rights, from anywhere in the country. Submissions can be made individually or by groups of up to three people across two categories and six divisions: 'Human Rights Posters (lower elementary, upper elementary, youth, general)' and 'Photos/Graphics (student/general).'

The judging will consist of a 1st round individual review and a 2nd round comprehensive review by a judging committee made up of six human rights experts, who will select the final winning works. The judging results are scheduled to be announced at the end of October.

A total of 18 works, including 6 Grand Prize winners and 12 Excellence Prize winners, selected in the two-stage judging process, will receive awards and a total prize money of 6 million won. The selected works will be used for future human rights education and promotional materials.

Han Chi-heum, Director-General of Daejeon City's Planning and Coordination Office, stated, "In this era where interest in human rights is more necessary than ever, we anticipate receiving works that demonstrate citizens' human rights awareness and show warm attention to the socially vulnerable around us. We especially ask for the active interest and participation of students and young people, who will be the protagonists of our city in the future."
