Cheonan City announced on November 2 that the "2026 K-DOG Festival with Cheonan Citizens," held at the Cheonan Citizens' Athletic Park from October 31 to November 1, concluded successfully with approximately 7,300 citizens and pet owners in attendance.

Marking its 4th anniversary this year, the festival was co-hosted and co-organized by Cheonan City and Yonam University. It was designed to help pet owners and non-pet owners communicate, share proper pet-raising cultures, and foster an environment where humans and animals can coexist harmoniously.

Throughout the event, various dog sports and experience programs were operated at the venue, including the K-DOG Agility Competition, Dog Olympics, dog dance demonstrations, and dog pilates.

In addition, a talk concert featuring veterinarian and pet behaviorist Seol Chae-hyun along with the Yonam University Department of Animal Protection faculty, live behavioral modification sessions, and a "Petiquette Golden Bell" quiz delivered proper rearing methods and practical ways to practice pet etiquette.

A total of 28 experience and PR booths, alongside 25 pet fair companies, participated to introduce related products and services. Cultural events such as busking and bubble performances were also held for family visitors.

Notably, a "Homecoming Day" was hosted to invite families who adopted abandoned animals through the city's animal shelter, providing a platform for adoptive families to interact and promoting the settlement of a mature adoption culture.

Chang Ki-soo, Mayor of Cheonan, stated, "I hope this festival served as an opportunity for pet owners and non-pet owners to consider, understand, and live harmoniously with one another. Moving forward, we will do our utmost in administrative support and policy implementation to spread a mature pet culture and enhance animal welfare."
