Establishment of diplomatic relations between Korea and Cuba opens up Cuba as a travel destination with infinite potential

[GLOBAL ECONOMIC TIMES]  Due to the establishment of diplomatic relations between Korea and Cuba, the interest of travelers in Cuba, the ‘island of revolution and romance,’ is growing. Cuba, loved by Che Guevara and Ernest Hemingway, is considered a travel destination with unique charms such as antique architecture, passionate culture, and beautiful nature.

Havana, the capital of Cuba, attracts travelers with its harmonious combination of antique buildings, pastel-colored murals, and exotic sculptures that seem to retain the glory of the past. In particular, the glow of Havana at sunset dyes the entire city red and presents an unforgettable spectacle.

Trinidad, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988, is called the ‘Magic City’ for its magnificent churches and dances and performances that continue day and night. It is also a place where you can experience Cuban traditional music, made famous by the movie ‘Buena Vista Social Club.’

The potential for traveling to Cuba is endless, but there are still no direct flights, and there is a lack of exclusive package products from domestic travel agencies. Most travel agencies include Cuba in their Central and South American package products. Additionally, for frequent visitors to the United States, a trip to Cuba is something to consider carefully. This is because the U.S. visa waiver program may be restricted after visiting Cuba as the U.S. designates Cuba as a state sponsor of terrorism.

However, the domestic travel industry is actively developing products with expectations for a trip to Cuba. Modetour officials announced that they plan to plan Cuba travel products in the first half of the year and begin selling them in earnest in the second half of the year.

Traveling to Cuba is an attractive travel destination where you can experience unique culture and beautiful nature. However, there are still challenges that need to be resolved, such as the lack of direct flights and U.S. visa issues. Travelers planning a trip to Cuba should take these factors into consideration and prepare carefully.

The establishment of diplomatic relations between Korea and Cuba revitalized exchanges between the two countries and opened new possibilities for traveling to Cuba. We hope that in the future, travel to Cuba will become more active and more people will be able to visit the island of revolution and romance and have a special experience.
