Shein and Singapore Fashion Council Join Forces for Global "Every Body Matters" Inclusive Design Competition

SINGAPORE – Global online fashion retailer Shein has announced a significant collaboration with the Singapore Fashion Council (SFC) to launch the “Every Body Matters” Inclusive Design Fashion Competition. This worldwide initiative aims to revolutionize the fashion industry by challenging traditional beauty standards and promoting designs that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of all individuals.

The competition, officially announced today, is open to aspiring and established fashion designers globally. It calls upon participants to create innovative and stylish garments and accessories that embrace inclusivity, considering factors such as body shape, size, physical disabilities, and other diverse needs.

Leonard Lin, President of Shein EMEA, Global Head of Public Affairs, and General Manager for Singapore, emphasized the company's commitment to inclusivity. "At Shein, our core belief is that fashion should be accessible to everyone. We are thrilled to partner with the Singapore Fashion Council, a like-minded organization, to cultivate a fashion landscape that truly celebrates diversity in all its forms," said Lin. "The 'Every Body Matters' competition perfectly embodies our vision, and we are proud to empower the next generation of designers who will champion a more inclusive future for the fashion world."

The Singapore Fashion Council echoed this sentiment, highlighting the importance of this initiative for the industry. Showcase Events: Providing platforms for participants to present their inclusive designs to a wider audience.
Financial Support and Prizes: Offering grants, resources, and awards to help designers bring their inclusive visions to life.

Industry Recognition: Elevating the profiles of participating designers within the fashion community.
