SEOUL — Yujin Robot, a pioneer in the Korean robotics industry, is accelerating its expansion into the industrial sector by spearheading a "Total Robotization" strategy that spans semiconductor, logistics, and manufacturing environments.

At the Smart Factory + Automation World (AW 2026) exhibition held recently, the company unveiled its latest suite of high-tech solutions. The showcase featured a specialized wafer transfer automation system for semiconductor lines, a heavy-duty Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) capable of carrying up to 2 tons, and AI-driven automated inspection systems designed to revolutionize shop floor efficiency.

A Strategic Leap Toward Global Markets
Park Seong-ik, Executive Director of Yujin Robot, signaled a major shift in the company's trajectory. "We have entered our second phase of growth, focusing on global expansion backed by our advanced robotization solutions that fuse autonomous platforms with collaborative arms," Park stated. Following the establishment of a European subsidiary in Germany last year, the company plans to launch a U.S. branch by 2027 to solidify its global footprint.

One of the highlights of the exhibition was the semiconductor wafer transfer solution. This system integrates a collaborative robot onto the GoCart 300 Omni, an omnidirectional autonomous platform.

Precision in Tight Spaces: The 360-degree mobility allows the robot to navigate narrow semiconductor aisles and position itself with millimeter precision.
Customizability: The GoCart platform features a standardized architecture, allowing for bespoke configurations tailored to specific industrial requirements.

Core Technology: From SLAM to Specialized Safety
Yujin Robot has built its competitive edge on proprietary technology, including Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) and in-house developed 3D LiDAR sensors. These core components allow the company to branch out from simple logistics into high-stakes specialized fields.

Current developmental focuses include:

Chemical Leak Detection: Deploying robots to monitor hazardous material spills in semiconductor plants.
Safety Surveillance: Utilizing AI to analyze whether workers are adhering to safety protocols in real-time.
Smart Assembly Systems (SAS): Providing end-to-end automation for automotive, heavy industry, and tech components.

The "Robotization" Advantage
Unlike traditional System Integrators (SI) that simply assemble third-party parts, Yujin Robot positions itself as a provider of integrated robotization. This means harmonizing the hardware—sensors, mobile bases, and arms—with proprietary software to create a seamless ecosystem.

"South Korea serves as the ultimate testbed due to its density of high-tech industries like semiconductors and batteries," Park explained. "By validating our technology in this rigorous environment, we are securing a distinct competitive advantage for the European and American markets."
As the industrial landscape shifts toward flexible manufacturing, Yujin Robot's ability to provide customized, AI-integrated solutions suggests that the "first generation" robot firm is well-positioned to lead the next generation of global automation.
