Artist IUM's solo exhibition 'West of Eden', held at Uncommon Gallery in Samseong-dong, goes beyond a simple art exhibition and opens a new horizon of the encounter between artificial intelligence (AI) and art. This exhibition introduced the unfamiliar area of AI art to the public and demonstrated the infinite possibilities that can be created by the convergence of technology and art.

The title of the exhibition, 'West of Eden', started from the imagination of humans returning to 'West of Eden' to regain their lost spiritual self-portrait at a time when future AI surpasses humans after humans were expelled from Eden. This is a fundamental question for us living in the AI era. Will humans lose their identity amidst technological advancement? Or can new possibilities be discovered through coexistence with AI?

Artist IUM recognizes AI not as a tool to create works, but as a creative partner. The works created by combining the artist's imagination and AI capabilities harmonize human sensibility and technological sophistication, providing deep inspiration and contemplation to visitors.

The moment visitors enter the exhibition hall, they fall into the illusion of stepping into an unknown world. The colorful images created by AI stimulate our imagination and at the same time raise fundamental questions about human existence.

In particular, AI characters with human faces create an eerie yet fascinating atmosphere. This seems to show the author's vision of a future society where the boundaries between humans and machines are blurred. Additionally, works that harmoniously combine nature and artifacts contain messages about the relationship between humans and nature, and the coexistence of technology and nature.

Artist IUM's 'West of Eden' exhibition shows the potential of a new genre called AI art, while also raising new questions about the role of art. As AI participates in art creation, how will the definition and value of art change? What is art that only humans can do?

These questions are not simply limited to the field of art, but lead to fundamental questions about our entire society. Living in the AI era, we must find answers to these questions.

Artist IUM's 'West of Eden' exhibition shows new possibilities of the convergence of AI and art, while also calling for deep reflection on the relationship between humans and technology. Through this exhibition, we can imagine humans living in the AI era and gain insight to prepare for the future society.
