LG Uplus announced today a major organizational overhaul effective December 1st, aimed at accelerating its transformation into an AI-centric company and driving sustainable growth through digitalization. The company is adopting an agile structure centered around AI, rebranding itself as a "Growth Leading AX Company."

To bolster its AI capabilities, LG Uplus is establishing a new "AI Agent Promotion Group" under the Consumer Division. This group will be divided into two tribes: Mobile Agent Tribe and Home Agent Tribe, focusing on developing AI-powered products and services that directly benefit customers. By adopting an agile approach similar to startups, these tribes will expedite the development of innovative AI-based services.

To support the company's AI-driven transformation across both B2C and B2B sectors, LG Uplus is also establishing an "Agent/Platform Development Lab" under the CTO. This lab will be dedicated to accelerating the development of new AI-based services. Additionally, the company is creating an "AX/Talent Development" team under the CHO to enhance the AI capabilities of its workforce.

To further digitalize its operations, LG Uplus is reorganizing its consumer business. The "Nugget" prepaid service platform will be integrated into the Consumer Division to maximize synergies. Furthermore, subscription-based services like "Udock" and commerce platform "Ucoc" will be consolidated under a dedicated "Subscription/Omni-platform" division.

Other organizational changes include the integration of InfiNista, Idolnarra, and CCO under the Consumer Division to enhance synergies with existing B2C businesses.

"This organizational restructuring is a significant step towards accelerating our transformation into an AI-centric company," said Wonhee Lee, HRBP at LG Uplus. "By focusing on AI and digital transformation, we aim to strengthen our core telecommunications business and lay the foundation for future growth."
