DAEJEON — Daejeon City has announced a public recruitment campaign for the "On-Tong Daejeon Living Lab," inviting local residents and small business owners to directly participate in discovering and shaping new service features for the region's local currency platform.

The recruitment period runs from November 4 to November 10. A total of 10 participants—6 citizens and 4 small business owners—will be selected to take part in the initiative. Any resident with an interest in the On-Tong Daejeon service is eligible to apply.

Transforming into a Lifestyle Economy Platform

This Living Lab project aims to evolve On-Tong Daejeon beyond a simple local currency card into an everyday lifestyle and economic platform that brings greater convenience to daily routines while offering practical business support for small-business merchants.

A "living lab" model allows users to identify real-world inconveniences firsthand and collaborate on solutions. Throughout the program, participants will share feedback on their experiences using On-Tong Daejeon, propose new benefits and daily convenience services, and brainstorm ideas to revitalize neighborhood commercial districts and streamline store operations.

Workshop Schedule and Support

The collaborative workshops will be held over four sessions from November 16 to December 7, taking place every Monday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Kon:Labo Square on the second floor of the Daejeon Contents Enterprise Support Center. Participants will receive an activity allowance of 50,000 KRW for each session attended.

Application and Selection

Interested citizens and small business owners can apply by scanning the QR code featured on the recruitment promotional materials by November 10. Final participants will be chosen through a selection process that accounts for residential districts and business categories, with individual notifications sent to successful applicants.

"We look forward to listening closely to the vivid voices of our citizens and small business owners," a Daejeon City official stated. "By discovering the services they truly need, we will drive meaningful changes for the future of On-Tong Daejeon."
