Camping, an encounter with nature at the Paraguay Rally

With the World Rally Championship (WRC) taking place in Itapúa, Paraguay, hotel demand has surged, and camping has emerged as a new alternative. Itapúa's lodging facilities are already at full capacity due to the influx of visitors eager to enjoy this motorsports festival. In response, the Itapúa provincial authorities and the tourism office have temporarily opened campsites, offering a special experience for those who wish to enjoy both nature and motorsports.

Camping is gaining popularity as it allows spectators to enjoy the event in a nature-friendly atmosphere at a much lower cost than hotels. The temporary campsites currently open are equipped with minimal amenities. Visitors are provided with drinking water, restrooms, and a safe space to pitch tents, allowing them to enjoy the festival without major inconvenience. Throughout Itapúa, forests, valleys, and historical sites offer additional enjoyment beyond the rally for those who prefer adventure tourism.

One of the official campsites for this rally, Parque de las Naciones in Hohenau, operates as a multi-purpose complex rather than just a simple camping ground. In addition to a safe camping area, it features restaurants where visitors can taste a variety of international cuisines, ample parking space, translation services, and a Fan's Arena, offering spectators the opportunity to interact directly with the athletes.

Other areas within Itapúa have also set up special camping zones for the duration of the rally. The San Juan del Paraná area has opened Quinta El Sueño, the Carmen Leguizamón and Elías López grounds, and the General Caballero sports field as camping spaces. Furthermore, Agroturismo Don Silverio in Jesús de Tavarangue and Garganta del Diablo in Alborada have also been designated as campsites.

The Paraguay National Tourism Office (Senatur) continuously updates information on temporary lodging and campsites during the rally period to provide visitors with the latest information. In this way, camping is establishing itself as a new way to travel, allowing visitors to feel the excitement of the rally amidst Itapúa's rich nature and discover the region's hidden beauty. This festival, where Itapúa's nature and motorsports blend, promises a more dynamic and special experience than ever before.
