The "Musical Costume Fashion Gala Show," specially curated by Baek Geum-ja Wooriot, will be held from July 30 to 31 at the Dongdaemun DDP Fashion Mall in Seoul.

This gala show is a brand-new stage presented by designer Baek Geum-ja, a master of Hanbok with a 49-year tradition. It is designed to showcase the diverse classes and culture of the Joseon Dynasty in one place through fusion costume designs that reinterpret traditional Korean attire with a modern sensibility.

In particular, the stage will feature a wide range of period costumes—from royal court attire reflecting the dignity of the king, to the official robes of civil and military officials, the armor of the gateguards protecting the palace, and the everyday garments of the common people—all presented through modern designs and theatrical stage production.

Designer Baek Geum-ja is highly regarded as one of Korea's leading Hanbok masters, having dedicated her life to preserving the beauty of traditional Korean clothing. For this gala show, based on historical research of traditional attire, she will add brilliant colors and silhouettes suitable for a musical stage to deliver a fresh wave of emotion to the audience.

Baek Geum-ja Wooriot stated, "This performance is not merely a fashion show, but a cultural content where history, culture, and performing arts converge. We prepared this so that the audience can experience the beauty and stories of our traditional clothing as if they were watching a musical."

Furthermore, this event is held as part of a cultural project aimed at the popularization and globalization of Hanbok. It is expected to be a meaningful venue to promote the artistic value and modern usability of traditional Korean attire to both domestic and international visitors.

Meanwhile, Baek Geum-ja Wooriot continues to widely promote the excellence of K-Hanbok through various domestic and international fashion shows and cultural events. They are also scheduled to showcase the beauty of traditional Korean clothing at an international cultural exchange event to be held in Paris, France, this September.
