Chungbuk Province announced that it participated in the '2026 Thailand International Food Exhibition (THAIFEX–ANUGA)' held at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani in Bangkok, Thailand, for five days from May 26 to 30, and achieved an outstanding export contract performance totaling 157 cases worth $4.92 million (approximately 7.3 billion KRW).
During this exhibition period, participating companies from Chungbuk Province conducted active export consultations totaling 197 cases worth $12.83 million (19.2 billion KRW) with local and overseas genuine buyers. As a result, they achieved visible results, signing 157 export contracts worth $4.92 million (7.3 billion KRW) and 7 Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) worth $1.37 million (2 billion KRW).
Chungbuk Province provided multi-faceted close support to maximize the achievements of the participating companies. To ensure smooth export consultations for the participating companies, joint interpretation personnel were constantly deployed, and active administrative support was provided so that the participating companies could focus solely on export consultations.
Looking at the major achievements by company, Haesarang (Cheongju) demonstrated the power of K-Gim (seaweed) by conducting $3.87 million worth of consultations, signing $1.30 million in export contracts, and a $300,000 MOU with its seasoned seaweed and organic seaweed.
Arinus Co., Ltd. (Jecheon) signed contracts worth $960,000 with turmeric concentrate and calcium jelly tailored to health trends, while Taewoong Food Co., Ltd. (Eumseong) realized high popularity in the Southeast Asian market by signing export contracts worth $600,000 with beverage products such as peach iced tea.
In addition, Joongang Food Co., Ltd. (Goesan), Mom&Yong Bio Agricultural Corporation, Haha Food, and Sunmyung Agricultural & Marine Products successively signed strategic MOUs with local buyers, firmly laying the foundation for expanding sales channels throughout the Southeast Asian market in the future.
In the food market of Southeast Asia, including Thailand, securing a large-scale wholesaler with its own major distribution network is the key to export success, but there has been a chronic difficulty that the barrier to entry is high for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) alone.
Accordingly, the province directly stepped forward to actively support the export of agricultural and food companies in the province by matching 'JIDUBANG', which has the largest Korean food distribution network in Thailand, as a wholesaler.
