Hwangsan Park in Yangsan, which attracts over a million visitors annually, is once again gaining prominence as a nationwide travel destination. According to an analysis by the Korea Tourism Data Lab, Hwangsan Park was the most popular travel destination among those aged 60 and above in January of this year, with a staggering 517% increase in visits over the past three months. This indicates that the park is attracting attention as a new travel hotspot for senior travelers who have already experienced various major tourist destinations in Korea.

Furthermore, in the recent "Gyeongnam Tourism Trends and Issues" report released by the Gyeongnam Tourism Foundation, Hwangsan Park ranked first with an overwhelming 203.42% increase in navigation search counts over the three months from October to December last year, solidifying its position as a representative tourist destination in Gyeongnam.

Currently, Hwangsan Park offers a variety of attractions including a wildflower complex, camping grounds, a dock, bicycle paths, a baseball field, a soccer field, an RC car race track, a mini train, and an outdoor stage. Various events such as the Mulgeum Cherry Blossom Festival, Egg Festival, Chrysanthemum Festival, and Film Festival are also planned. In particular, since the 8th popularly elected term, the park has gained popularity among families by expanding facilities such as the "3-Meong" (Bonfire Meong, Water Meong, Forest Meong), a 1.4km loess path, 50 additional campsites, and children's play facilities.

Additionally, the park golf course is undergoing expansion from 36 holes to 90 holes with the addition of 54 holes, and the Presidential National Park Golf Tournament, with approximately 1,000 athletes from across the country, is scheduled to be held in May. Furthermore, to establish K-park golf, the city plans to operate the park as a prestigious park golf destination by localizing equipment, managing eco-friendly courses, and standardizing park golf etiquette.

In addition, Yangsan City plans to conduct a full-scale review of the construction of an access overpass to significantly improve traffic conditions for Hwangsan Park in its "Mulgeum, City of Tomorrow, One-Stop Life" Mulgeum Vision announced in January this year. The Hwangsan Local Garden, which will receive an investment of 6 billion won, and the Nakdong Sunset Bike Park, which is scheduled to receive 16.7 billion won including national funds, are planned for completion between 2027 and 2028. Furthermore, the city is considering the establishment of an integrated water sports leisure center and an artificial lake park as another key project for Hwangsan Park.

Yangsan Mayor Na Dong-yeon stated, "Recent statistical data confirms that Hwangsan Park in Yangsan is establishing itself as a representative tourist destination in Gyeongnam. We will develop Hwangsan Park, the symbol of Mulgeum and the face of Yangsan, into the best healing space in the country by nurturing it as a natural, historical, and cultural resource in connection with the Nakdong River."
