[GLOBAL ECONOMIC TIMES] The French Tourism Organization held ‘French Days in Seoul 2024’ on the 22nd. French Days in Seoul is held every year as an event where the French and Korean tourism industries meet to understand trends in the Korean market, share the latest French news and product development ideas, and strengthen exchange and cooperation. This event, now in its 6th year, was held on the largest scale ever, with 24 French tourism companies participating, including 6 new companies.
Following the media workshop, travel agency workshop, and gala dinner, French companies held travel agency sales calls and agency seminars from the 25th and 26th, and had more than 600 meetings with about 300 Korean travel industry officials. “With the launch of T’way Air’s direct flights from Incheon to Paris this summer, four airlines will now be operating direct flights from Incheon to Paris 23 times a week,” said Corinne Poulquier, head of the Korean branch of the French Tourism Organization. “In France, Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris will officially reopen, and various events are scheduled to be held next year, including the Cannes Film Festival, Roland Garros, and Tour de France,” he said.
Additionally, the French Tourism Office held the '1st French Awards' at the Luberon Gala Dinner held on the evening of the 22nd. The France Awards is a special awards ceremony designed to reward and encourage Korean tourism industry officials for the innovation, creativity, and best practices shown in French travel products. Through this, the goal is to strengthen the travel agency's expertise in French products and promote the continuous development of French mono products. Applications for participation in the awards have been accepted since last spring, and winners were selected in the following categories: ‘Sustainable French Product Category’, ‘Innovative French Product Category’, and ‘French Sales King Grand Prix’. The Sustainable French Product Category Award went to Modetour, the Innovative French Product Category Award went to Linkenribe Travel Agency, and the French Sales King Grand Prix Award went to Very Good Travels.
Meanwhile, 2025 is the year of ‘Cézanne 2025’ and various events are scheduled to be held, including the reopening of the Cézanne Atelier and a special exhibition at the Granet Museum. It is also one of the oldest department stores in Europe.
The Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann branch plans to present various events and exhibitions to celebrate its 130th anniversary, and the Cartier Foundation for Contemporary Art building, designed by architect Jean Nouvel, is scheduled to open as a new landmark at the Palais Royal Square at the end of 2025.
