Dave & Buster's, the leading American 'Eatertainment' brand, has broken ground on its first location in Manila, Philippines. The Coppell, Texas-based company has partnered with local Philippine franchise partner The Bistro Group to bring its unique blend of food, games, and sports viewing to the Philippine market. This entry marks a significant milestone in Dave & Buster's global expansion strategy.

1,560 sqm Flagship Store at Manila's Opus Mall

Dave & Buster's inaugural Philippine venue will be located on the 3rd floor of Opus Mall in Manila, spanning 1,560 square meters (approximately 16,792 square feet). It will feature a state-of-the-art arcade, full-service restaurant, and bar, offering an immersive entertainment experience for visitors of all ages. Notably, exclusive games directly sourced from the U.S., such as 'StepmaniaX Arcade De Luxe,' 'Super Blaster,' 'NBA Superstar Worldwide,' 'Water Gun Pixel,' and 'Rope,' will be introduced to the Philippine market for the first time, generating excitement among local gaming enthusiasts. Additionally, various games and adventure content, including 'Godzilla VR' and the new 'Fast & Furious Arcade' with dual monitors, will be available.

The food menu will also incorporate localization efforts. Alongside Dave & Buster's signature American classic dishes, localized Asian fusion cuisine will be offered to appeal to the tastes of Filipino customers, providing visitors with a familiar yet new culinary experience.

Strategic Partnership and Global Expansion Plans

This expansion into the Philippines is one of several strategic moves since Dave & Buster's announced its global expansion plans in 2022. The partnership with The Bistro Group, a prominent Philippine restaurant company, is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening Dave & Buster's presence in the Asia-Pacific region. The Bistro Group has successfully operated numerous international brands in the Philippines, including TGI Fridays, Denny's, Texas Roadhouse, and Hard Rock Cafe, establishing itself as a leader in the foodservice industry. This experience will be instrumental in Dave & Buster's successful establishment in the Philippine market.

Antonio Bautista, Chief International Development Officer at Dave & Buster's, commented, "This groundbreaking marks a groundbreaking moment in our international story. We are thrilled to bring an exciting new concept of fun, food, and unforgettable experiences to Manila through our strong partnership with The Bistro Group." Jean Paul Manuud, President of The Bistro Group, also emphasized, "Dave & Buster's is a game-changing brand," adding, "We are proud to introduce the Philippines to its first experience where great food, state-of-the-art games, and community come together."

Beyond the Philippines, Dave & Buster's is planning to open additional locations in various countries including India, Australia, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic in the latter half of 2025. This active international expansion demonstrates Dave & Buster's strong commitment to spreading the new cultural trend of 'eatertainment' beyond the U.S. and Canada to the rest of the world.

New Horizons for the Philippine Entertainment Market

The Philippines has recently seen a rapid rise in its entertainment and dining markets, driven by a young population and a fast-growing middle class. Given these market characteristics, and the diverse cultural backgrounds of people converging in the heart of Manila, Dave & Buster's entry is expected to offer a new leisure culture to local consumers. Beyond simply eating or playing games, Dave & Buster's is poised to open new horizons in the Philippine entertainment market as a 'Competitive Socializing' space where families and friends can create special memories together.

Since its establishment in 1982, Dave & Buster's has built a successful business model, operating over 165 locations across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico. All eyes are now on how Dave & Buster's, as it takes its first steps into the Southeast Asian market starting with Manila, will harmonize with local culture and forge another success story.
