Jang, one of the most coveted free agents this offseason, ultimately signed with the LG Twins. Despite offering a significant contract, Samsung was outbid by LG's fully guaranteed deal worth 5.2 billion won.

Samsung's aggressive pursuit of Jang highlights the team's determination to bolster its roster for the upcoming season. The club has shown a willingness to spend big in recent years, indicating a strong desire to return to championship contention.

However, with Jang now off the market, the Lions must reassess their options. The pool of available free agents has dwindled significantly, and there are few pitchers of comparable caliber and value. While pitchers like Kim Kang-ryul and Noh Kyung-eun are still available, their ages may not warrant a contract as lucrative as the one offered to Jang.

Another option for Samsung is to target starting pitcher Choi Won-tae. The Lions have already secured the services of ace pitcher Won Tae-in but are still seeking depth in their starting rotation. However, acquiring Choi would require a substantial investment, potentially exceeding the budget allocated for Jang.

Samsung's decision will have a significant impact on the team's chances of success in the upcoming season. After reaching the Korean Series this year, the team is eager to build on its momentum and compete for a championship.
