Hello Kitty, born in 1974, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and is being celebrated by fans around the world. Hello Kitty is more than just a character, it has established itself as a timeless icon, and is loved by various generations, with people who liked Hello Kitty as children still remaining fans as adults.

In Japan, various events are being held to commemorate Hello Kitty's 50th anniversary. At the Tokyo National Museum, an exhibition will be held to provide a glimpse into the history of Hello Kitty, and a variety of Hello Kitty-themed attractions will be prepared, such as the opening of the Sanrio Smile Shop at Universal Studios Hollywood.

Hello Kitty exerted social influence by working as a public relations ambassador for UNICEF and special envoy for the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and promoted a luxury strategy through collaborations with luxury brands. Thanks to these efforts, Hello Kitty has established itself as Sanrio's representative character, recording sales of $80 billion worldwide.

Hello Kitty has continued to evolve in line with changes in the times. Initially, it was a character for young girls, but it gradually expanded its product line for adult women and expanded its fan base. In addition, based on its popularity in the global market, it has captured the hearts of fans around the world by launching products that reflect the cultures and trends of various countries.

Sanrio is not resting on Hello Kitty's success and is expanding its various character businesses such as Kuromi and Cinnamoroll. In particular, as the popularity of Sanrio characters increases in the North American market, the proportion of overseas sales is increasing.

Hello Kitty has been loved by people all over the world for 50 years and has successfully evolved to adapt to changing times. Hello Kitty is expected to continue to stay with us in various forms and bring joy to many people.
