Daegu Culture and Arts Foundation and Exco Co., Ltd. signed a business agreement to attract international events and revitalize cultural tourism.

Establishing a mutual cooperation system to attract international MICE events in the region and revitalize local cultural tourism
▲ Daegu Culture and Arts Foundation and Exco Co., Ltd. signed a business agreement to attract international events and revitalize cultural tourism.


[Global Economic Times] Daegu Culture and Arts Promotion Agency Tourism Division signed a business agreement with EXCO Co., Ltd. to attract MICE events (corporate meetings, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions) and revitalize cultural tourism in Daegu. (MOU) was signed on October 17th.

Through this business agreement, the two organizations will seek to promote mutual cooperation to revitalize the MICE tourism industry in Daegu, such as attracting and hosting international events in Daegu and promoting joint tourism projects, and will leverage EXCO's ability to host international conferences and the Daegu Culture and Arts Promotion Agency's ability to host international conferences. We plan to cooperate by sharing cultural tourism networks.

The details of the agreement include △promoting joint promotional and marketing activities for local tourism resources and tourism products, △efforts to revitalize tourism programs by holding local international events, △discovering and cooperating on joint projects to revitalize Daegu MICE tourism, and △MICE industry and culture, art, and It contains details of cooperation between the two organizations to revitalize Daegu's culture, arts, and tourism industries and strengthen its position as a global tourist city through various international events hosted in Daegu, including revitalizing exchanges in the tourism industry.

EXCO plans to host approximately 70 international events by 2026, and has been carrying out various attraction activities to host additional events.

In addition, lodging and shopping facilities are scheduled to be expanded in Dongseong-ro, Daegu, which was recently designated as a 'special tourist zone', and the two organizations can create synergy by working together to attract MICE tourism and group tourists in line with EXCO's diverse international events. The agreement is even more meaningful.

Park Soon-tae, head of the Daegu Culture and Arts Promotion Agency, said, “The agreement with EXCO is expected to serve as a foundation for building a MICE tourism network where Daegu’s culture and arts tourism and the MICE industry can coexist and cooperate. “Through cooperation with EXCO, we will continue to strive to strengthen Daegu’s position and competitiveness as a global MICE tourism city beyond regional competition,” he said.
