Incheon, South Korea – The Korean Diaspora Agency (KDA) officially opened a new integrated service center at Incheon International Airport’s Terminal 2 on December 2nd. The center, previously located in Songdo, is now more conveniently situated to serve overseas Koreans as they arrive or depart from the country.
The opening ceremony was attended by KDA Commissioner Lee Sang-deok, Yoon Joo-seok, Director-General of the Consular and Overseas Safety Bureau at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shin Yeon-jeong, Policy Advisor at the KDA, as well as other key officials from the agency and Incheon International Airport Corporation.
"This new service center is more than just an administrative office; it's a bridge connecting overseas Koreans and their homeland," said Shin Yeon-jeong, a policy advisor at the KDA. "Relocating the center to Incheon Airport is a powerful gesture that demonstrates our understanding and care for our diaspora."
Commissioner Lee Sang-deok expressed his gratitude for the public's support for the KDA's integrated service centers in Gwanghwamun and Incheon. "With this new location, overseas Koreans can now access our services at the very first point of contact when they arrive in Korea, making it much more convenient for them," he said.
The Incheon Airport service center, which began operations on December 2nd, offers a wide range of services, including consultations on nationality, immigration, military service, taxation, family relations, employment, veterans affairs, education, national pension, health insurance, and driver's licenses. These services are provided in collaboration with the KDA’s integrated service center in Gwanghwamun.
Additionally, the center provides limited services related to overseas residency, such as issuing certificates of overseas residency registration and reissuing overseas departure notifications.
