JEONNAM, South Korea – Jeollanam-do Province has launched a special event to promote its Hometown Love Donation System, offering an additional Yeosu spring sea bream to those who write a review after donating and receiving reward items.

The province announced on March 17th that this initiative aims to encourage participation in the donation system while providing donors with a healthy and delicious seasonal treat. "We are offering a complimentary 300g spring sea bream, a perfect seasonal dish for families to enjoy during the spring season when the daily temperature range increases," stated a provincial official.

Spring sea bream, known for its lean meat and low-calorie content, is not only a culinary delight but also a healthy choice. It is easily digestible, making it an ideal food for individuals on diets and those recovering from surgery. This seasonal fish is particularly abundant in Yeosu, a coastal city in Jeollanam-do, renowned for its fresh seafood.

To participate in the event, individuals must donate 100,000 Korean won or more to the Jeollanam-do Provincial Office through the Hometown Love e-eum system, order and receive reward items, and then post a review of their experience. The event will run until April 30th, providing ample time for people to participate and enjoy this special offer.

The Hometown Love Donation System allows individuals to contribute up to 20 million won annually to local governments outside their residence. Donors receive reward items valued at up to 30% of their donation. Additionally, donations up to 100,000 won are fully tax-deductible, and amounts exceeding this threshold receive a 16.5% tax deduction. The collected donations are used to fund projects that enhance the welfare of local residents.

Gomi-kyung, head of the Jeollanam-do Autonomous Administration Bureau, expressed her hopes for the event, saying, "We prepared this event with the hope that donors will be filled with good fortune, just like the sea bream, which is considered a symbol of luck and prosperity. We encourage everyone to share their love for their hometown and enjoy the health benefits of spring sea bream with their families."

This event not only promotes local donations but also highlights the rich culinary traditions of Jeollanam-do, particularly its fresh seafood offerings. The province hopes that this initiative will bring joy and health to both donors and local residents alike.
