Anyang, South Korea – The Anyang Museum marked its 20th anniversary on March 16, 2024, commemorating two decades of safeguarding and promoting the city's rich history and culture.

Since its opening in 1994, the museum has hosted a diverse range of exhibitions showcasing Anyang's past, from ancient artifacts to contemporary art. Its educational programs, lectures, and performances have enriched the cultural lives of countless citizens.

A notable highlight of the museum's collection is its extensive display of Goguryeo-era relics. Situated near the ancient Anyang Fortress, a significant Goguryeo site, the museum houses numerous artifacts from this powerful Korean kingdom.

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, the Anyang Museum has organized a series of special events:

Special Exhibition: "Anyang: 20 Years of Shared Journey" (March 16 - July 16, 2024) offers a retrospective of the museum's past exhibitions and educational programs, featuring a wealth of artifacts and photographs that tell the story of Anyang.
Educational Programs: A variety of programs cater to all ages, including children's hands-on workshops on traditional Korean games and guided tours, as well as adult lectures on Anyang's history and culture.
Cultural Events: The museum will host a range of celebratory performances, film screenings, and concerts, including classical music, jazz, theater, and musicals.
The special exhibition, "Anyang: 20 Years of Shared Journey," provides a comprehensive overview of the museum's achievements over the past two decades. Visitors can explore the evolution of Anyang through the lens of its cultural heritage.

Looking ahead, the Anyang Museum is committed to continuing its mission of preserving and promoting Anyang's unique history and culture. Through innovative exhibitions, educational programs, and cultural events, the museum aims to inspire future generations and foster a deeper appreciation for the city's past.
