Exhibition to run from October 14 (Wed) to 16 (Fri) at COEX, Seoul… Operation of the Gangwon Semiconductor Pavilion

Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province announced that it will participate in the "Semiconductor Exhibition (SEDEX) 2026," held at COEX in Seoul for three days from October 14 to 16, to operate the "Semiconductor Special Self-Governing Province, Gangwon" promotional pavilion.

In this exhibition, local semiconductor companies—GQL Inc., MIJ Co., Ltd., and Neol Inc.—will participate together to directly showcase their respective products and technologies. The Province plans to organize the exhibition space alongside these companies to highlight the technological competitiveness and growth potential of Gangwon's semiconductor industry, while expanding exchange and cooperation opportunities with industry stakeholders.

"SEDEX," hosted by the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association, is South Korea's largest specialized semiconductor exhibition, featuring around 300 companies across all sectors of the semiconductor industry, ranging from memory and system semiconductors to materials, components, equipment, and sensors.

At the exhibition, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province will introduce its key policies, including local corporate products and technologies, the Gangwon-style semiconductor ecosystem development plan, corporate support systems, workforce training programs, and testbeds. In particular, following the selection of the special semiconductor and ceramic sectors as the growth engine for the Gangwon region under the government's "5-Koreas and 3-Specials" regional growth strategy—alongside the inclusion of the "Semiconductor Design Support Center Construction" project in the government budget proposal for 2027—the Province plans to foster related industries, expand the recruitment and support of fabless companies, and enhance the competitiveness of Gangwon's semiconductor industry.

Furthermore, during the exhibition period, the Province will guide major semiconductor companies on Gangwon's investment environment and tailored support measures, while identifying individual corporate investment and cooperation demands to actively drive practical investment attraction and collaboration.

Hwang Sung-hyun, Director of the Semiconductor Industry Division at Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, stated, "This exhibition is an excellent opportunity to promote Gangwon's outstanding investment environment and the growth potential of its semiconductor industry. We will continue to actively support business-to-business exchanges and cooperation so that they translate into practical business and investment outcomes."
