HANOI, VIETNAM – Vietnam is strategically positioning itself as a premier destination for wedding tourism, aiming to capitalize on the growing trend of couples seeking unique and memorable wedding experiences abroad. With its stunning landscapes, luxurious resorts, and rich cultural heritage, Vietnam is poised to become a leading player in this lucrative market.

The Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT) and industry experts are advocating for increased investment in wedding tourism to meet the ambitious target of attracting 22-23 million international visitors by 2025. This emerging sector presents a significant opportunity to boost local economies and promote Vietnam’s diverse attractions to a global audience.

"Wedding tourism is not just about the ceremony; it's about creating an entire experience," said Nguyen Quang Vinh, an expert from the Institute for Tourism Development Research. "Vietnam's diverse offerings, from pristine beaches to cultural hubs, make it an ideal destination for couples seeking personalized and unforgettable celebrations."

Destinations like Phu Quoc, Da Nang, and Ha Long Bay are already gaining popularity for their scenic beauty and high-quality hospitality services. The success of high-profile weddings, such as the 2019 Indian billionaire wedding in Phu Quoc, has placed Vietnam on the global map as a top-tier wedding destination.

"These events not only bring immediate economic benefits but also serve as powerful marketing tools," noted Tran Thi Mai Huong of VNAT. "When guests share their experiences online, they promote Vietnam's beauty and culture to a worldwide audience."

To further develop this market, experts emphasize the need for tailored strategies that cater to the unique preferences of international couples. This includes offering diverse wedding packages, from beachside ceremonies to traditional cultural celebrations. Businesses are also urged to invest in skilled personnel, including event planners, decorators, and photographers, to ensure high service standards.

"Wedding tourists are often affluent and willing to spend generously," said Dinh Duc Quang of APEC Mandala Wyndham Mui Ne. "By providing exceptional experiences and encouraging extended stays, tourism businesses can significantly boost their revenue."

The emphasis on personalized experiences is crucial, as couples seek distinctive venues, creative décor, and tailored activities. Service providers must also be mindful of cultural differences to create memorable experiences that resonate with guests from diverse backgrounds.

With strategic investments and a focus on personalized services, Vietnam is well-positioned to become a leading destination for wedding tourism, contributing significantly to the country's economic growth and global recognition.
