GEUMSAN — The “2026 Geumsan Wellness Walking Challenge Campaign,” hosted by Geumsan County and organized by the Chungnam Culture & Tourism Foundation (Acting President Lee Han-soo), concluded with overwhelming success on Saturday, October 3, around the Geumsan Chilbaekuiseong Historic Site and the Geumsan Geumseongsullegil Trail.

Held as part of the Chungnam tourism campaign "Chungnam Travel Festa 2026," this event was designed to promote wellness tourism utilizing Geumsan's pristine forest resources and to spread a walking culture in daily life. Particularly, by tying into the "Geumsan World Ginseng Festival"—one of South Korea's premier autumn festivals—the event offered participants a stay-over healing course that seamlessly connected nature trekking, festival sightseeing, and local culinary exploration.

The event took place along a round-trip route of approximately 6 kilometers (taking about 2 hours and 30 minutes), starting from the Chilbaekuiseong Memorial Hall in Geumsan, passing through the Geumseongsullegil Trail, and turning around at the Sajibong Pavilion. Participants fully enjoyed the fresh early autumn forest atmosphere while completing the course. Upon completion, they were awarded local specialties of Geumsan along with Onnuri gift certificates that can be immediately used in local commercial districts.

After finishing the course, participants headed to the nearby Geumsan World Ginseng Festival venue to enjoy various experience booths and performances. Using their Onnuri gift certificates at the Geumsan Ginseng and Herb Market and food market, they tasted local health-restorative delicacies such as ginseng samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) and fried ginseng, injecting practical vitality into both the festival site and local neighborhood commercial districts.

Choi Dong-seok, Head of the Tourism Business Division at the Chungnam Culture & Tourism Foundation, stated, "This event was a meaningful occasion that confirmed the competitiveness of stay-over wellness tourism by linking Geumsan's clean ecological resources with the Geumsan World Ginseng Festival. We will continue to discover diverse tourism content linked with representative festivals across cities and counties in the province to breathe genuine life into the local economy."
