SK Telecom Reorganizes for AI-Driven Growth in 2025

Seoul, South Korea – SK Telecom, South Korea's leading telecommunications company, announced a major organizational overhaul today, centered around its telecommunications and artificial intelligence (AI) businesses. The restructuring aims to drive growth in the AI sector and solidify the company's position as a global AI leader.

The company has introduced a new seven-division structure to execute its AI Pyramid strategy, which was outlined earlier this year. The seven divisions are:

MNO Business Unit: Oversees mobile network operations.
B-Fixed/Media Business Unit: Handles fixed-line and media services for businesses.
Enterprise Business Unit: Focuses on B2B services such as messaging, authentication, and payments.
A dot Business Unit: Develops the company's AI assistant, A dot.
GPAA (Global Personal AI Agent) Business Unit: Expands AI agent services globally.
AIX (AI Transformation) Business Unit: Drives AI adoption within the SK Group and beyond.
AI DC (Data Center) Business Unit: Builds and operates AI data centers and GPU cloud services.
To support these divisions, SK Telecom has established a shared infrastructure group and a staff group to consolidate technical resources and enhance efficiency. The company has also streamlined its organizational structure, reducing the number of organizational levels from four to three.

"We are making 2025 the year of execution," said Yoo Young-sang, CEO of SK Telecom. "By focusing our efforts on telecommunications and AI, we will achieve tangible results in our core business areas. This organizational restructuring and executive appointments will create a more agile and focused organization."

The company has appointed three new executives: Eun-kyung Kang as head of the MNO Planning Division, Tak-ki Ryu as head of the Network Infrastructure Technology Division, and Jeong-min Jo as head of the AI DC Planning Division. These appointments reflect SK Telecom's commitment to fostering young talent and driving innovation.

SK Telecom's reorganization comes as the company seeks to strengthen its position in the rapidly evolving AI market. By aligning its resources and expertise around AI, the company aims to drive growth and create new opportunities.
