Largest in Nation with 144 Partner Companies...Full-Scale Leap Towards Becoming a Leading K-Defense City

Daejeon City and the Daejeon Defense Venture Center held an agreement signing ceremony on May 27 at the Daejeon Technopark Eoullim Plaza to support the growth of local defense venture companies. Through this agreement, a total of 22 companies, including 19 new and 3 renewed, are participating, bringing the total number of Daejeon Defense Venture Center partner companies to 144, the highest in the nation.

The event, attended by over 120 people, lasted approximately three hours and included welcome remarks, congratulatory speeches, agreement signing and exchange, signboard delivery, and technical presentations by the partner companies.

The participating companies include: ▲Gaon Platform ▲Daeyoung M&S ▲BNF Technology ▲Stella Vision ▲Sims Reality ▲SLM ▲ARN Tech ▲ASB ▲H3R ▲Overlay ▲OAQ ▲Instec ▲Intergravity Tech ▲K&S I&C ▲Teraworks ▲TAB ▲PD Solution ▲Korea Digital Twin Research Institute ▲HURA. These are promising companies possessing advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotics, and Extended Reality (XR).

Through this agreement, Daejeon City and the Daejeon Defense Venture Center plan to fully support the partner companies in discovering defense projects, developing technologies, and providing management support, while focusing on achieving tangible results for their entry into the defense industry.

In his welcome remarks, Lee Ki-young, head of the Daejeon Defense Venture Center, stated, "The companies that have signed this agreement are promising ventures equipped with advanced defense technologies. We will provide full support to help them achieve tangible business results in the defense market."

Lee Jeong-in, head of Daejeon City's Defense and Space Industry Division, emphasized in her congratulatory speech, "We will continue to discover technologically advanced small and venture companies and do our best to foster an industrial ecosystem as the capital of K-Defense, including technology development and expanded cooperation with the military."

Meanwhile, the Daejeon Defense Venture Center, established in 2011 with budget support from Daejeon City, has actively supported the entry of local small and medium-sized venture companies into the defense market. Notably, 17 Daejeon companies were selected for the Defense Acquisition Program Administration's 'Defense Innovation Company 100' public contest, securing government funding and playing a key role in Daejeon's establishment as a hub for K-Defense.
