LONDON — As the annual dominance of Christmas carols subsides, the soundtrack for the Netflix animated series K-Pop Demon Hunters has staged a significant comeback on the UK Official Singles Chart, reclaiming its position among the top ten.

According to the latest chart data released on January 2 (local time), "Golden," a standout track from the series' original soundtrack (OST), jumped 34 spots from the previous week to land at No. 8. This marks the song’s 28th consecutive week on the chart, cementing its status as a long-running global hit.

The track had briefly fallen out of the Top 10 in early December as holiday classics and contemporary Christmas hits flooded the rankings. However, as the festive season concluded and streaming patterns normalized, "Golden" saw a swift resurgence in popularity.

Broad Success for the OST
The recovery was not limited to the lead single. Other tracks from the K-Pop Demon Hunters soundtrack also demonstrated impressive upward mobility:

"How It's Done" surged 63 places to reach No. 18.
"What It Sounds Like" made a successful re-entry into the chart, landing at No. 19 after previously falling out of the Top 100.
Industry analysts suggest that the enduring popularity of the animation, combined with the high production quality of the music, has allowed the OST to maintain a dedicated listener base that persists beyond seasonal trends.

Rosé’s "APT." Re-enters the Rankings
In addition to the animated series' success, Blackpink member Rosé has returned to the UK singles scene. Her global collaboration with pop star Bruno Mars, "APT.," re-entered the Official Singles Chart at No. 66.

"APT." previously enjoyed a historic run, peaking at No. 2 for six consecutive weeks. Although its record-breaking streak of 56 weeks was briefly interrupted last November when it dropped out of the Top 100, the song's re-entry signals a continued appetite for the infectious pop-rock track as it begins its second climb on the charts.

The current chart landscape reflects a broader trend of K-pop and K-content related music regaining their foothold in the Western market now that the "holiday wall" has been cleared.
