Daejeon Pet Park to operate 7 times daily for small/medium dogs, 5 times for large dogs

To provide a recreational space where people and pets can interact and enjoy themselves during the hot summer, the Daejeon Animal Protection Office is opening and operating a "Water Park for Pets."

The water park will be set up in the multipurpose plaza within Daejeon Pet Park from July 24th to August 10th (closed every Monday). It will feature two 70㎡ swimming pools: one for small dogs (under 25cm in height) and medium dogs (25-40cm in height), and another for large dogs (over 40cm in height).

Operating hours are from 10 AM to 6 PM. The daily operating frequency is 7 sessions each for small and medium dog pools, and 5 sessions for the large dog pool.

Each session lasts 75 minutes. The maximum number of dogs per session is 10 for the small dog pool, 7 for the medium dog pool, and 5 for the large dog pool.

The water park can be used after making a reservation through the "Daejeon OK Reservation Service." For safety, only one pet per guardian can be reserved. If bringing two or more pets, separate guardians must make individual reservations. Reservations open on:

July 14th for the 1st week (July 24th - July 27th)
July 21st for the 2nd week (July 29th - August 3rd)
July 28th for the 3rd week (August 5th - August 10th) Admission is free.

Guardians are allowed to enter the water with their pets, but there are no separate shower facilities for guardians. Pet shower supplies, towels, life jackets, and other necessary items for water play must be brought separately. Pet bathing and drying facilities are available for a fee at the pet shower room on the first floor of the Pet Culture Center.

Detailed session schedules can be found on the Daejeon City and Daejeon Pet Park websites or through the "Daejeon OK Reservation Service." For any other inquiries about the water park, please contact the Daejeon Animal Protection Office's Pet Division at ☎042-270-7231.

An official from the Daejeon Animal Protection Office stated, "We have prepared a special summer play space for pets and their guardians, whose outdoor activities are limited during the hot summer." They added, "In addition to the swimming pool, there will be a photo zone, mini fountain, and resting areas, and we hope you create special memories with your pets."
