CHUNGNAM — The Chungnam Cultural Tourism Foundation (Acting President and CEO Lee Han-soo) announced that it will host the “2026 Chungnam Cultural Tourism Silo (1111) Policy Conference” on Wednesday, November 11, aiming to dismantle institutional barriers and foster the convergence of culture, arts, and tourism.
The upcoming conference holds profound significance by bringing together executives and staff from cultural, tourism, and festival foundations across Chungnam Province, central and municipal government officials, academic and field experts in culture, arts, and tourism, and local residents to shape a shared vision for the region's future. Open to all, the event requires no advance registration for local citizens wishing to attend.
Symbolically scheduled for November 11—where four "1"s align—the event was designed to tear down organizational and sectoral "silos" and connect the four core areas of culture, arts, tourism, and festival planning into a single unified path.
The conference will feature a keynote presentation by Kwon Jae-hyun, former General Director of the 2026 National Heritage Media Art Goryeogungji and the 2021–2022 World Heritage Festival Suwon Hwaseong, as well as an expert in night-time tourism and cultural heritage utilization. Under the theme "Staying Through the Night – Four Pillars (1111) of Vitalizing Night Tourism Utilizing Chungnam’s Historical and Cultural Assets," Director Kwon will present strategic directions and practical strategies for expanding Chungnam's unique historical assets into stay-over night-time tourism content.
Additionally, a "Convergence Networking" session will be held, bringing together regional and local cultural-tourism foundation employees and industry experts. Participants will explore collaborative tasks across traditional boundaries and engage in in-depth discussions to build a sustainable, integrated Chungnam-style cultural tourism governance system.
Lee Han-soo, Acting President and CEO, remarked, "This policy conference will serve as a starting point to generate practical policy outcomes that residents can experience in their daily lives through the organic convergence of culture, arts, tourism, and festivals. We will continue to lower institutional barriers and foster a cooperative ecosystem of mutual growth."
