TRIPOLI, LIBYA – The Libyan General Authority for Exhibitions and Conferences recently hosted a high-level Turkish economic delegation, focusing on strengthening bilateral trade and boosting Turkish exports to Libya. The meeting, held in Tripoli, underscored the growing interest in deepening economic cooperation between the two nations.

Essam Al-Aoul, Head of the Libyan General Authority for Exhibitions and Conferences, welcomed the Turkish delegation, which was led by the Mayor of Yenişehir and included prominent representatives from the Anatolian Industrialists and Businessmen Association (ASIAD). Discussions centered on expanding collaborative efforts in key sectors crucial to Libya's reconstruction and economic diversification.

The sectors highlighted for potential cooperation included agriculture, contracting, construction, and infrastructure development. Both sides acknowledged the significant role of trade exhibitions and conferences in facilitating business-to-business connections and fostering international partnerships. The Libyan Authority emphasized the importance of these events in providing platforms for Libyan companies to engage with global markets and showcase their products.

"We see immense potential in enhancing our trade relationship with Turkey," stated Essam Al-Aoul. "Our international exhibitions and conferences offer invaluable opportunities for Turkish businesses to establish strong trade partnerships and introduce their products to the Libyan market. We are committed to creating a conducive environment for mutual growth and prosperity."

The delegation explored specific avenues for collaboration, including potential joint ventures in infrastructure projects and agricultural development. The Turkish delegation expressed keen interest in participating in upcoming international exhibitions organized by the Libyan Authority, recognizing the strategic importance of these events in expanding their market presence.

This meeting comes at a crucial time for Libya, which is actively seeking to rebuild its economy and diversify its revenue streams. Turkey has been a significant trading partner for Libya, particularly in the construction and manufacturing sectors. The renewed focus on enhancing trade ties signals a commitment to strengthening economic cooperation and fostering sustainable growth in both countries.

The Libyan General Authority for Exhibitions and Conferences plans to announce a detailed schedule of upcoming international exhibitions and conferences, inviting Turkish businesses to participate and explore the vast opportunities available in the Libyan market. The collaboration aims to not only increase Turkish exports but also promote the development of Libyan industries and enhance their competitiveness in the global arena.
