Korean Air celebrated its 30th anniversary of serving San Francisco, USA.

Lee Ha-young, the winner of the airline ticket, said, "Today is my wife's first time boarding a Korean Air flight, and I am very happy to have encountered such unexpected luck. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Korean Air for giving me an unforgettable gift."

On this day, Korean Air delivered a special gift to all passengers on flight KE024 to commemorate its 30th anniversary. “We sincerely thank our customers who have been with Korean Air in every moment of their journey between Korea and San Francisco over the past 30 years,” said Lee Jin-ho, head of Korean Air’s Americas division. “Korean Air is Korea’s representative national carrier and a leading airline in the global aviation industry. “With my calling and pride, I will help raise the national prestige of the Republic of Korea around the world,” he said.

Meanwhile, Korean Air first launched a regular passenger flight from Seoul to San Francisco on October 29, 1994. Since the first year of service, the route has operated daily at least seven times a week and has served as a bridgehead for material and human exchange between Korea and the western United States. In particular, it is evaluated as having greatly contributed to the development of industries such as IT and semiconductors in Korea by increasing accessibility to Silicon Valley near San Francisco.

The San Francisco route carried a total of 176,000 passengers last year, the second largest number of passengers among routes in the western United States after Los Angeles (LA). Currently, the large Boeing 777 aircraft is being used on the San Francisco route to provide comfortable service to passengers.
