Korean Air celebrated its 30th anniversary of serving San Francisco, USA.

On the 29th (local time), Korean Air held a ‘commemorative event for passengers’ at San Francisco International Airport in the United States to commemorate its footsteps over the past 30 years and express its gratitude to customers. On this day, the 30th passenger to check-in for Korean Air Flight KE024 to Incheon was given a round-trip economy ticket from San Francisco to Incheon.

Lee Ha-young, the winner of the airline ticket, said, "Today is my wife's first time boarding a Korean Air flight, and I am very happy to have encountered such unexpected luck. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Korean Air for giving me an unforgettable gift."

On this day, Korean Air delivered a special gift to all passengers on flight KE024 to commemorate its 30th anniversary. An eco-encyclopedia designed by the Korean American Artists Association of New York (KANA), a non-profit culture and arts organization in New York, USA, and Ghirardelli chocolate, a specialty of San Francisco and one of the world's top three luxury chocolates, were presented to passengers who have used Korean Air for the past 30 years. He expressed his gratitude.

The following day, on the 30th (local time), a dinner event was held in the Grand Ballroom of the Grand Hyatt San Francisco with the attendance of over 80 key local figures and agency officials, including Lee Kyung-hyun, head of the passenger team at Korean Air's Americas headquarters, and Korean Air's western U.S. branch manager Jeong Yun-seok, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the route's launch. is held.

“We sincerely thank our customers who have been with Korean Air in every moment of their journey between Korea and San Francisco over the past 30 years,” said Lee Jin-ho, head of Korean Air’s Americas division. “Korean Air is Korea’s representative national carrier and a leading airline in the global aviation industry. “With my calling and pride, I will help raise the national prestige of the Republic of Korea around the world,” he said.

Meanwhile, Korean Air first launched a regular passenger flight from Seoul to San Francisco on October 29, 1994. Since the first year of service, the route has operated daily at least seven times a week and has served as a bridgehead for material and human exchange between Korea and the western United States. In particular, it is evaluated as having greatly contributed to the development of industries such as IT and semiconductors in Korea by increasing accessibility to Silicon Valley near San Francisco.

The San Francisco route carried a total of 176,000 passengers last year, the second largest number of passengers among routes in the western United States after Los Angeles (LA). Currently, the large Boeing 777 aircraft is being used on the San Francisco route to provide comfortable service to passengers.
