Chungcheongnam-do Province in South Korea has embarked on an ambitious initiative to attract overseas Korean residents. The province aims to establish retirement communities in partnership with Korean-American businesses, providing a welcoming environment for expats to settle down.

Governor Kim Tae-heum, currently on a business trip to the United States to attract foreign investment, signed a memorandum of understanding with Kevin Baek, CEO of Red Point Group, a prominent real estate company in California, on [date]. The agreement, which also involved local government officials from Hongseong and Yesan counties, outlines a collaborative effort to develop comprehensive regional revitalization projects focusing on attracting overseas Korean residents.

Red Point Group, founded in 2013 in Buena Park, California, specializes in residential and commercial real estate sales, purchases, leasing, business planning, and financing. With a workforce of 188 employees and annual revenue of $186 million, the company is well-positioned to contribute to the development of retirement communities in Chungcheongnam-do.

Under the agreement, the province, along with Hongseong and Yesan counties, and Red Point Group will collaborate on various initiatives, including:

Identifying suitable locations for retirement communities and pursuing regional revitalization projects.
Attracting overseas Korean residents and developing joint ventures.
Fostering infrastructure development through the sharing of investment information.

Key features of the planned retirement communities include:

Creation of multi-functional cultural spaces that leverage existing private facilities and local resources.
Development of senior living communities distinct from those in the metropolitan area.
Establishment of villages for overseas Korean residents and foreigners.
Linkage with existing programs such as opportunity development special zones.
Integration with regional development and revitalization projects.
Chungcheongnam-do Province will also work to develop and operate collaborative programs to support senior living communities and foster community engagement. Additionally, the province will streamline administrative procedures to facilitate the settlement of overseas Korean residents.

Hongseong and Yesan counties will identify suitable locations for attracting overseas Korean residents and develop incentives to support these residents. Red Point Group will actively seek opportunities to attract overseas Korean residents and develop collaborative projects within the province.

During the signing ceremony, Governor Kim emphasized the appeal of Chungcheongnam-do for returning Korean residents, highlighting its convenient location, modern infrastructure, and natural beauty. He assured that the province would provide the best possible living environment for those who choose to make Chungcheongnam-do their home.
