21 Departments and Organizations Participate… Regional Aging Preparation Support Centers Expanded from 1 to 4

Bucheon City announced on the 3rd that it held the "2026 Second Half Bucheon City Aging Preparation Council Meeting" at the Bucheon City Hall Communication Yard to discuss inter-institutional cooperation measures to support the systematic retirement preparation of middle-aged and older adults (shin-jungnyeon).

This meeting was arranged to share the performance of this year's retirement preparation support projects and to strengthen the cooperative framework for the expanded operation of regional retirement preparation support centers in 2027 and the vitalization of outreach retirement preparation services.

The meeting was attended by representatives from a total of 21 departments and organizations, including relevant divisions of Bucheon City, the National Pension Service, the Bucheon Regional Council for Labor, Management and Government, the Bucheon Employment Center, senior welfare centers, and community welfare centers. In particular, four new organizations joined the council in the second half of the year, expanding the cooperative foundation for supporting retirement preparation in the local community.

Attendees on this day shared the implementation achievements and best practices of this year's retirement preparation support projects, and discussed plans for the expanded operation of regional retirement preparation support centers in 2027 and the joint operation of outreach retirement preparation services linked with companies and public institutions.

This year, the city provided customized counseling and education in four major areas of retirement preparation—finances, health, leisure, and interpersonal relationships—centered around the Middle-Aged Retirement Preparation Support Center. In addition, the city promoted various programs linked with related organizations and expanded social participation opportunities for the middle-aged through club activities and social contribution programs.

The meeting also discussed plans to expand the number of retirement preparation support centers from the current 1 to 4 starting next year. Attendees exchanged views on operating three additional regional centers in the Wonmi, Sosa, and Ojeong districts, centered around the existing base center, and providing customized retirement preparation services reflecting regional characteristics and demand.

Furthermore, the meeting covered plans to expand outreach retirement preparation counseling and education in connection with companies and public institutions. Views were also shared on providing retirement preparation information and counseling to citizens at various sites such as local events and job fairs.

Jung Mi-yeon, Director of the Bucheon City Welfare Bureau, stated, "The interest and cooperation of various organizations in the local community are crucial for the stable retirement preparation of the middle-aged. We will continue our efforts to ensure that any citizen can receive necessary retirement preparation services close to home through the expansion of regional centers and cooperation with related organizations."

Based on the opinions gathered at this meeting, the city plans to prepare for the expanded operation of regional centers next year and strengthen customized retirement preparation support by linking the expertise of each institution with local resources.
