JEONBUK — The Jeonbuk Culture and Tourism Foundation (CEO Baek Ok-seon) is shining a spotlight on the region's rich gastronomic heritage through the "Matdong Yeojido (Culinary Map) Western Inland Edition" promotion, running through November 15.

Collaborating with the Chungnam Culture and Tourism Foundation, the Sejong City Culture and Tourism Foundation, and Naver, this joint initiative aims to turn local delicacies into compelling travel itineraries while driving real visitor traffic and supporting regional commerce.

Key Highlights of the Campaign

Expanded Collaboration: Building on last year’s partnership with Blue Ribbon to discover top culinary spots, this year’s campaign integrates online reservations directly with Naver to streamline the visitor experience.
Curated Selection: The campaign highlights 100 featured restaurants across the western inland region—including 50 renowned spots in Jeonbuk, alongside partner locations in Chungnam and Sejong.
User-Friendly Access: Travelers can easily browse participating restaurants by region and theme on the Naver "Matdong Yeojido" landing page, check locations via Naver Maps, and secure instant reservations.

Special Visitor Benefits & Rewards

To encourage direct participation and community engagement, diners can take advantage of special promotional rewards through Naver:

Reservation Benefit: Receive a 1,000-won reward when booking a table at a participating restaurant via Naver.
Review Benefit: Earn an additional 1,000-won reward upon uploading a photo review of the visit.

Boosting Local Commerce & Future Outlook

To maximize the campaign's reach, organizers are deploying comprehensive multi-channel promotions utilizing Naver’s main portal, map services, brand searches, and outdoor advertising in the Seoul metropolitan area. Participating local businesses are also receiving hands-on support, including help setting up reservation systems, updating menu details, and installing promotional materials equipped with QR codes.

Following the conclusion of the event, the Foundation plans to host a "Gastronomy Awards" ceremony. This program will evaluate performance metrics such as online reservations, actual visits, review counts, and bookmark saves to honor top-performing culinary establishments and integrate them into future tourism packages.

"We hope that experiencing Jeonbuk's unique cuisine will serve as a wonderful invitation for travelers to visit our region," said CEO Baek Ok-seon. "By bridging local restaurants and tourists, we are dedicated to ensuring that culinary tourism translates into tangible growth for local economies."

This campaign forms a core part of the broader "Gastronomy Tour Product Development" project (running from 2025 to 2026), designed to build a wide-area culinary belt. Alongside this initiative, the Foundation continues to develop diverse food tourism content, including the experiential program "Monthly Gourmet Club" and specialized broadcast and magazine features.
