Asunción, Paraguay – Asunción, the capital of Paraguay, was filled with vibrant Latin rhythms as La Pimentada, widely recognized as pioneers of Paraguayan salsa music, collaborated with renowned vocalists to present a special rumba and salsa concert dedicated to mothers. Titled "Reinas de la Salsa" (Queens of Salsa), the event was held successfully at Casa Taárö last Saturday, May 24, starting at 10 PM.

La Pimentada: Pioneers of Paraguayan Salsa

The concert, held at Casa Taárö on Mariscal López 650, was spearheaded by the La Pimentada group, a leading force in Paraguay's salsa scene. With an impressive 11-year history, La Pimentada has significantly contributed to popularizing salsa music and expanding its reach in Paraguay. The group's leader, Néstor Barreto, has played a crucial role in the development of Paraguayan salsa music. As this concert was a special dedication to mothers, the group prepared an even richer and more emotional performance than usual.

The Stellar "Reinas de la Salsa" Lineup

The "Reinas de la Salsa" stage was graced by prominent vocalists from the Paraguayan music scene, elevating the quality of the performance. Nadia Stefani, Cristina Bitiuska, and Anahí Ynsfrán were the stars of the show. They delivered unforgettable performances, perfectly recreating the songs of legendary salsa artists such as Celia Cruz, Gloria Estefan, La India, and the recently rising Mimy Succar.

Nadia Stefani, one of the participating vocalists, explained, "We added symphonic elements to salsa, and the repertoire included cha-cha-cha, merengue, bolero, salsa, Afro-Caribbean music, and even a fusion of Paraguayan music with salsa rhythms." This diverse blend of genres made the concert even more special.

Talented Vocalists with International Experience

The "Reinas de la Salsa" who illuminated the stage are accomplished singers with diverse backgrounds and international experience.

Nadia Stefani is a veteran singer with extensive international stage experience. She has performed on cruise ships and in hotels, showcasing her music to audiences in various countries. Beyond her singing career, she is also an active businesswoman, demonstrating her multifaceted talents.

Cristina Bitiuska, a Romanian national, currently contributes to the Paraguayan music scene by primarily performing Paraguayan music. Her unique background added a fresh appeal to the concert.

Anahí Ynsfrán gained popularity as the vocalist for the group "Los Farranderos." She also has professional music experience abroad, which has enriched her stage presence and expressive abilities.

A Platform for Cultural Fusion Beyond Salsa

The "Reinas de la Salsa" concert went beyond merely showcasing salsa music; it offered a new form of musical experience by combining various Latin rhythms with traditional Paraguayan music. This was an important example of the creativity and dynamism within the Paraguayan music scene, suggesting the potential for further development in Paraguayan salsa. Tickets were 35,000 Guaraní for advance purchase and 40,000 Guaraní at the door, with inquiries and reservations available at (0991) 977-580.

This event, conceived for Mother's Month, was a meaningful occasion that expressed respect and love for mothers through music, while also satisfying the public's cultural appetite for high-quality Latin music in Paraguay. The passionate performance delivered by La Pimentada and the "Reinas de la Salsa" heated up the Asunción night, bringing deep emotion and joy to many.
