Provincial Agricultural Research & Extension Services Show Clear Achievements in 3 Areas: Promotion, Education, and Settlement & Feedback

The Chungnam Provincial Agricultural Research & Extension Services announced on the 10th that they achieved significant results in three key areas related to farm-to-rural migration: promotion, education, and settlement & feedback. In the first half of this year alone, the total number of consultations surpassed 7,264.

This marks a 29.2% increase compared to 5,623 consultations during the same period last year. The Research & Extension Services analyzed that this rise in consultations is a direct result of their customized policies designed to address the decreasing rural population and the crisis of regional decline.

First, in the promotion sector, a total of 6,210 consultations (4,197 male, 2,013 female) were conducted through 15 city/county farm-to-rural support centers within the province.

By age group, those aged 60 and above accounted for 39%, and those in their 50s accounted for 29.7%, with middle-aged and older individuals making up approximately 70% of the total.

Regarding consultation types, inquiries about government and local government support policies were the most frequent at 59%, followed by education information (23.5%), housing and farmland acquisition (13.4%), and agricultural technology-related matters (4%).

Furthermore, in collaboration with cities and counties, the Research & Extension Services participated in two national farm-to-rural migration expos, promoting farm-to-rural policies to a total of 1,054 individuals and striving to expand the base for urban inflow.

They plan to continue their comprehensive consultation and policy promotion activities for farm-to-rural migration by participating in 'A FARM SHOW' in August and the 'Small Farm-to-Rural Migration Expo' in September.

In the education sector, "On-site Visiting Education" was conducted 6 times, with 169 participants. City/county farm-to-rural support centers also offered mentor-mentee practical training for 27 items, supporting the initial adjustment of 136 prospective farm-to-rural migrants.

The settlement and feedback sector saw 5 talent donation activities with 147 participants, contributing to village settlement and strengthening community ties.

In addition, 10.7 billion won in agricultural startup and housing purchase loans were provided to 50 individuals, supporting the establishment of practical settlement foundations.

An official from the Provincial Agricultural Research & Extension Services stated, "We plan to continue expanding customized consultation and education programs centered on demand in the second half of the year. We will actively strive to widely publicize Chungnam's farm-to-rural policies and the strengths of the region."
