Bayern's Bold Move for Son Heung-min

Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich is reportedly making a significant push to acquire Tottenham Hotspur's captain, Son Heung-min (33), by planning a drastic overhaul of their offensive lineup. British media outlet Nogomania reported on February 27th that Bayern has reignited their interest in Son and may make an official offer during the summer transfer window.

Key Forwards on the Chopping Block, Son as the Centerpiece

To make room for Son, Bayern is planning to offload key attacking players Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sané, and Kingsley Coman. This move signals Bayern's strong intent to rebuild their offense around Son. Nogomania suggests this overhaul will provide Son with the perfect opportunity to join Bayern.

Bundesliga Experience, Reunion with Kim Min-jae and Kane

Son has prior Bundesliga experience, having played for Hamburger SV's youth team and Bayer Leverkusen from 2013 to 2015. Furthermore, Bayern boasts South Korean national team defender Kim Min-jae and former Tottenham teammate Harry Kane, who can aid Son's adaptation.

Past Attempt, Will They Succeed This Time?

Bayern previously attempted to sign Son in 2021, offering him a weekly wage of £200,000 and a five-year contract, but failed. However, they are now renewing their pursuit after witnessing Son's consistent performance.

This season, Son has recorded 6 goals and 9 assists in 24 league appearances, demonstrating his continued prowess as a key offensive player. He ranks 5th in goals and 1st in assists within the team.

Will Bayern's Pursuit of Son Succeed?

Bayern's interest in Son is not merely a rumor. The club is taking concrete steps by planning to release key players to accommodate him. Son's prior Bundesliga experience and the presence of familiar faces at Bayern further strengthen the possibility of this transfer.
