Supports overseas expansion based on intellectual property worth up to 70 million KRW annually for 3 years
Existing 52 supported companies achieved a 23.5% increase in employment and a 24.8% increase in intellectual property holdings

Daejeon City, in collaboration with the Daejeon Intellectual Property Center (Daejeon branch of the Korea Invention Promotion Association), jointly held the '2025 Global IP Star Companies Designation Ceremony' at the Daedeok Techno-biz Center on the 29th, newly selecting 13 promising local SMEs.

The 'Global IP Star Company Nurturing Project' provides customized overseas expansion support based on intellectual property (IP) within a limit of 70 million KRW annually for up to 3 years to SMEs with existing or planned export performance.

Daejeon City finally selected 13 companies this year through a two-stage process: a primary spectrum diagnosis and on-site due diligence, followed by a secondary presentation evaluation, assessing the companies' intellectual property capabilities and global growth potential.

Selected companies will receive various programs, including ▲customized intellectual property consulting ▲overseas rights acquisition support ▲patent/design map creation ▲brand/design development ▲production of promotional videos for patented technologies.

Furthermore, continuous support will be provided for up to 3 years through annual evaluations, systematically assisting with intellectual property creation, rights acquisition, and strategic utilization to bolster their global market competitiveness.

Previously, the 52 companies that received support through the same project last year recorded a 23.5% increase in employment and a 24.8% increase in intellectual property holdings compared to before the support, demonstrating the project's effectiveness.

Choi Won-hyeok, Director of the Corporate Support Bureau of Daejeon City, stated, "Securing intellectual property rights that protect technology is essential for sustainable growth in the fiercely competitive global market. We will continue to expand customized support so that local SMEs can expand globally based on their intellectual property."
