Investing 73.4 billion won in new and expanded manufacturing and research facilities... Creating 104 new jobs

On the 14th, Daejeon City held a business agreement ceremony in the medium conference room of City Hall with three Daejeon-based companies to secure approximately 73.4 billion won in investments and create 104 new jobs.

Attending the agreement ceremony were key figures, including Daejeon Mayor Heo Tae-jung, Kim Myung-jin, CEO of AXVIS Co., Ltd.; Hwang Seok-yong, CEO of PAMI Co., Ltd.; Lee Kang-gun, Head of the Central Research Institute at Hansol Paper Co., Ltd.; and Jung Tae-hee, Chairman of the Daejeon Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Under this agreement, the three companies plan to invest approximately 73.4 billion won to newly build or expand manufacturing and research facilities in the Daejeon Industrial Complex and Daeduk Industrial Complex in Daedeok-gu, as well as the Taplip and Jeonmin districts in Yuseong-gu.

Daejeon City has committed to sparing no administrative and financial support for the companies' smooth investments, and both sides agreed to cooperate closely to create new employment and boost regional economic development.

Established in 2009 within the Daeduk Research Complex, AXVIS Co., Ltd. is a company that supplies industrial intelligent laser solutions by fusing proprietary optical technology and software technology, providing related technologies to the electric vehicle and secondary battery business sectors. Backed by these technological capabilities, it was recently selected as a "Materials, Parts, and Equipment (MPE) Premier Enterprise" hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. Currently investing 43.3 billion won in the Daejeon Industrial Complex to construct a new headquarters building and factory, the company plans to additionally expand its factory on an adjacent site to further broaden its business scope into the battery, semiconductor, and robot markets.

PAMI Co., Ltd., established in 1998, is a Daejeon-based specialized inspection equipment company for semiconductors and electronic components, independently developing 2D/3D inspection equipment applicable from Surface Mount Technology (SMT) to semiconductor manufacturing processes. Leveraging its proprietary 3D laser inspection technology to enter global markets and propelled by the global semiconductor industry boom, the company plans to establish new manufacturing and research facilities in the Taplip and Jeonmin districts of Yuseong-gu.

Hansol Paper Co., Ltd., established in 1965, is a leading comprehensive paper company in Korea that produces industrial paper, printing paper, specialty paper, and thermal paper. It manufactures various paper products across four domestic hubs—Daejeon, Sintanjin, Cheonan, and Janghang—and supplies them to global markets. Recently focusing on developing eco-friendly new materials for cosmetics and secondary batteries based on sustainable material technologies such as nanocellulose, the company plans to expand its production facilities at the Daejeon plant to scale up mass production equipment.

Daejeon Mayor Heo Tae-jung stated, "The continuous investment and business expansion in the region by companies that grew in Daejeon serve as a robust growth engine for the local economy. Daejeon City will actively support these companies so they can continue to grow based in Daejeon and leap forward as industry-leading enterprises."
