SEOUL — The global phenomenon known as the "K-Wave" is no longer just about music and drama; it has firmly shifted into the realms of lifestyle and consumption. In 2025, South Korean food and beauty companies saw unprecedented success, with several firms surpassing the 1 trillion won revenue mark. As 2026 begins, these industry giants are pivoting toward new territories, including the Middle East, Europe, and Central Asia, to maintain their explosive momentum.

K-Food: Beyond Ramen to Global Staples
While Korean instant noodles (ramen) have long been the face of K-Food, the portfolio is rapidly diversifying. CJ CheilJedang is leading the charge by targeting the Middle East with Halal-certified snacks and noodles, using the UAE and Saudi Arabia as strategic hubs. To solidify its presence in Europe, the company is set to begin operations at its new production facility near Budapest, Hungary.

Similarly, Daesang Corporation is aggressively expanding its "Jongga" kimchi brand into Middle Eastern and Latin American markets. Meanwhile, Samyang Foods, the maker of the viral Buldak Spicy Chicken Noodles, is eyeing the "3 Trillion Won Club" in annual sales, supported by the increased production capacity of its second plant in Miryang.

K-Beauty: A New Era of Trillion-Won Titans
The beauty sector is witnessing a historic shift as "indie" brands evolve into global powerhouses. APR Corp, a leader in beauty devices and skincare, is expected to have reached 1.4 trillion won in revenue for 2025. Following closely is Goodai Global, which has rapidly scaled to an estimated 1.5 trillion won through strategic acquisitions of brands like Skinfood and TirTir.

Industry experts remain bullish, with Merit Securities forecasting a 14.5% increase in cosmetics exports for 2026. Hankook Kolmar, a leading ODM (Original Design Manufacturer), is poised for a windfall following the full-scale operation of its second U.S. plant, which boasts an annual capacity of 470 million units. Even traditional giants like Amorepacific are seeing a resurgence, focusing on Western markets with high-growth brands like Laneige.

The Next Frontier: Platform Exports
A new chapter is also being written in K-Fashion. Musinsa, Korea’s leading fashion platform, is transitioning from domestic dominance to global retail. The company plans to open its first "Musinsa Standard" store in Shanghai’s Shinsegae Daimaru Department Store in 2026, with plans to expand to 10 locations across China and launch its first permanent store in Japan.
