Standing Tall as Gyeongsangbuk-do's Representative Online Agricultural Market

September monthly sales reach 18.7 billion won, an increase of 4.6 billion won compared to the same month last year

Gyeongsangbuk-do's agricultural and specialty product online shopping mall, 'Saiso,' recorded 18.7 billion won in sales for the month of September, boosted by Chuseok holiday demand. Announcing this achievement, the platform stated that sales increased by 4.6 billion won compared to the same month last year, bringing cumulative sales to 50.5 billion won and achieving 88.7% of its annual target of 57 billion won.

Saiso's cumulative sales increased by 6.4 billion won (14.7%) from 44.1 billion won during the same period last year. With the growth trend expected to continue for the remainder of the year, achieving the annual sales target is projected to be within reach.

Ahead of Chuseok, Saiso responded to consumer demand by operating customized discount coupons and gift set special exhibitions. It also hosted Saiso time-sale specials and county-recommended product exhibitions, showcasing regional specialty products such as seasonal agricultural products and heat-beating restorative gourmet events.

By September of this year, the platform operated 47 discount and promotional events, including demand specials and themed exhibitions, supporting the sales of 840 products from 659 companies. It discovered products centered around consumer-interest topics and strengthened promotional exhibitions. Furthermore, it expanded marketing to promote the characteristics and value of Gyeongsangbuk-do's agricultural and specialty products, creating opportunities for resident farms and businesses to publicize their goods and expand sales.

As of the end of September, Saiso members reached 339,994, an increase of 42,518 from 297,476 at the end of last year. With a growth rate of 14.3%, it has surpassed the annual membership target of 330,000.

Participating farms numbered 2,944, an increase of 177 from the end of last year, with more than 11,000 products secured for sale. Consumers are now able to choose from a diverse selection of Gyeongsangbuk-do agricultural and specialty products, while farms and businesses have expanded their online sales channels.

The provincial government plans to continue expanding Saiso's online sales channels and supporting sales for participating farms.

Park Chan-guk, Director of the Agriculture, Livestock and Distribution Bureau of Gyeongsangbuk-do, stated, "This September performance is a result created by combining the quality competitiveness of Gyeongsangbuk-do's agricultural and specialty products with consumer demand-driven marketing and diverse sales channels." He added, "Moving forward, we will continue to enhance Saiso's competitiveness so that consumers can purchase with trust and farms can sell stably, thereby achieving both the sustainable growth of Saiso and an increase in farm income."
