Singapore – Trident Digital Tech Holdings Ltd, a Singapore-based firm specializing in digital transformation, technology optimization, and Web 3.0 enablement, announced significant progress on April 8th in its pioneering public-private partnership (PPP) with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The announcement follows a recent visit to the DRC led by Trident's founder, Chairman, and CEO, Soon Huat Lim, showcasing the transformative potential of the company's digital identity verification technology.

In a statement, Trident affirmed that validation work is currently underway, and that Trident and the DRC government are committed to building a secure and inclusive digital identity system that will unlock transformative opportunities for Congolese citizens. This collaboration is projected to have a substantial impact, including the creation of over 30,000 direct and indirect jobs in digital technology, cybersecurity, administration, and service sectors; a 40% increase in financial inclusion, granting millions access to financial and digital services; a 50% reduction in administrative processing delays, enhancing public service efficiency and accessibility; the stimulation of economic growth through facilitated cross-border trade and investment; and improved social protection and public services via secure digital identification for healthcare, education, and social support.

On March 15th in Kinshasa, the DRC's Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and Digital Economy, H.E. Augustin Kibassa Maliba, hosted a significant event marking the commencement of the validation phase of this collaboration.

During the event, Minister Kibassa detailed the government's proactive commitment, which includes integrating technology into public and private services, launching nationwide awareness and education programs, strengthening technological infrastructure with a dedicated cloud system and secure data centers, and fostering local innovation by empowering startups and digital stakeholders.

Trident CEO Soon Huat Lim, who attended the event, underscored the transformative power of secure digital identity solutions. "This initiative will revolutionize every sector of our economy by securing our digital future by reducing identity fraud and cybercrime, transforming public administration through reduced bureaucracy and increased transparency, accelerating financial inclusion by providing access to financial services and digital payments for millions of unbanked citizens, facilitating student identification, online learning, and academic verification, and enhancing healthcare accessibility through secure medical records," he stated.

He further added, "Thanks to cutting-edge technologies such as Web 3.0 blockchain, artificial intelligence, biometrics, and zero-knowledge proofs, Trident will redefine trust in digital interactions. This is more than just a tool; it's a catalyst for change across a nation and a continent."

During his visit to the DRC, CEO Lim met with government officials, local innovators, and business leaders to foster collaboration and nurture the digital ecosystem. He reaffirmed Trident's commitment to empowering Congolese startups and digital enterprises, ensuring the project drives local economic growth and positions the DRC as a leader in Africa's digital revolution.

Minister Kibassa emphasized the profound significance of the project, stating that this collaboration, under the leadership of President Félix Tshisekedi and Prime Minister Judith Suminwa, is a revolutionary step towards strengthening governance, inclusivity, and transparency, and will serve as a crucial foundation for economic transformation.
